Idiyappam is one popular breakfast that tastes the best when paired with stew / coconut milk. Also called string hooper or nool pottu/noolappam, it is a rice noodle dish originating from the kitchens in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Idiyappam consists of rice flour, which is pressed into noodles into a flat disc-like shape and steamed. Considering it’s health benefits we are bringing you a super easy and healthy Idiyappam flour with the goodness of Thooyamalli Rice & Ponni Rice that will help you make idiyappam at home in just 15 minutes❤️

HOW OUR FLOUR IS MADE?

✅Rice is thoroughly washed and soaked for 4 to 5 hours.

✅Water is drained and soaked rice is shade dried until the water gets completely dry.

✅The rice is ground to a fine powder and dry roasted for an hour to bring an excellent aroma and taste.

✅The dry roasted flour is transferred to large trays to cool down and it’s packed fresh and delivered at your door steps 😍

IDIYAPPAM METHOD:

✅Boil 1.5 cup of water by adding a Teaspoon of oil/ghee and 1/2 Teaspoon of Salt. Wait until the water starts to roll and boil and switch off the flame.

✅Take 1 cup of flour in a wide vessel and start adding the boiled water immediately little by little and mix well until you get a soft dough.

✅Close the vessel & rest the flour for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes mix the dough again and prepare oblong balls out of it and load it inside the Idiyappam maker.

✅Press the Idiyappam strings onto idli plates or Idiyappam plates. Once the dough is completely pressed off transfer the plates to a steamer and steam the Idiyappam for 10 minutes.

✅After 10 minutes of steaming rest the idli plates for 5 minutes before removing the Idiyappam from the plates and transfer to a casserole.

✅Serve hot with coconut milk / vegetable stew / chicken stew as per your choice and enjoy😍
